Long Term Care Fees
Planning for Long Term Care Fees

Care Fees Planning
We have two mature advisers qualified and authorised to advise on the complicated and sensitive area of Long Term Care Fees Planning. Both advisers spent several years specialising in this area and have a wealth of experience in dealing with clients who suddenly have a need for Long Term Care and find themselves "self-funding" the whole amount, due to the amount of capital they have.
We can advise on State Benefits that are available and how to go about claiming them. Did you know that some benefits are not means tested and are therefore available to individuals irrespective of how much capital they have?
For some clients the preservation of capital is all important. To others it is simply knowing that they have enough capital to meet the cost of fees in the care home of their choice for the remainder of their lifetime.
We do stress the importance of having either an Enduring Power of Attorney (Replaced over recent years by a Lasting Power of Attorney) in place so that relatives or other individuals are able to deal with an individual's financial affairs if they no longer have the mental capacity to do so. In the vast majority of cases it is in fact the Attorney that we deal with in these cases. Not having this legal document in place can result in additional costs, delays and frustration.
